Previously, under the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP), your Social Security retirement or disability benefit was figured using a modified formula when you were also entitled to a pension from a job where you did not pay Social Security tax.  This is no longer the case because on January 5, 2025, the Social Security Fairness Act was passed, and it ended the WEP and Government Pension Offset (GPO).  Please refer to the Social Security website for additional information on the WEP or GPO.
